Prameya Art Foundation invites you for the second session of workshops titled The Whims of Future conceptualized by Premjish Achari.
This workshop is an attempt to deliberate upon the future of institutions and practices. We invite academics, artists, curators, researchers, activists, writers, scientists, technologists, etc., to assemble a constellation of visions, meanings, and propositions to think about relationships, associations, and alliances across time. This workshop-round table will deliberate on the nature of philosophy especially on the idea of new and body, screen culture, technology and performance art. As noted art historian Claire Bishop has observed “we seem to be in a period of anticipation”, and this workshop opens up the possibility to engage with this vital notion of “future” influenced by theories of the Anthropocene, Feminist/Queer practices, Marxism, and Psychoanalysis.
The workshop is formulated as a year-long series of round tables led by Amitesh Grover, Julie Walsh, Arnika Ahldag and Premjish Achari which will culminate in a symposium-exhibition. This is the second in the series of a year-long round tables planned with the 4 resource persons. It will be held in different parts of Delhi and the participants will remain the same throughout the year and these round tables/workshops will culminate in an exhibition or workshop. The objective is to extract various iterations on the future which will evolve out of these round tables. After this workshop, the resource persons will carry out workshops with the participants every month. This will be carried out by the whole panel or done individually by the resource persons.
